This year’s festival brings yoga, meditation, sound healing and more to Waterfront Park. Classes will be held simultaneously among five different stages and tents offering a wide array of classes for everyone.

We’ve also expanded our schedule to include healthy living discussions with some of Southern California’s leading experts.

9:00-9:45

PILGRIMAGE OF THE HEART MAIN STAGE | ALL LEVELS VINYASA FLOW with AMY CALDWELL. . .

This is an all-levels flow class, with a focus on optimal alignment principles. Breath and present moment awareness will be encouraged. Modifications will be offered so that each individual can practice to their level of experience and desired pace. Collectively, a positive, inclusive, and non-competitive environment will be cultivated. Led by Amy Caldwell.

IYACSR SUN ASANA TENT | HATHA YOGA FUNDAMENTALS with MANELI JODAT . . .

This class will introduce postures that are practiced to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility in the body. Great class for beginners or those who wish to refine the fundamentals of alignment, form and action of the asana practice. Led by Maneli Jodat.

MOON ASANA TENT| MELLOW HATHA with JORDAN TYLER . . .

A gentle, all-levels Hatha flow. Expect Mudras, OMing, playful postures, and to feel relaxed and radiant! Led by Jordan Tyler.

THE SOUL OF YOGA SOUND IMMERSION TENT | HEART CENTERED GONG IMMERSION with KEN GOFF . . .

For those who've not experienced a gong immersion before, think deep relaxation, an inner harmonic journey into a portal of restorative space, where sounds of whales, dolphins, planets, being in the forest and wind pass through you as you travel within, into the essence of your spirit... Often, people experience relaxation, discovery, clearing of thought blockages and physical discomfort in the body. As your mind focuses on the layers and harmonics of multiple gongs, you'll experience your body relax as your spirit expresses the peacefulness and stillness experienced in deep meditation. Set a personal intention before we begin the sound journey to create, balance or let go of that which has been the focus of your thoughts.
As the gongs sound, be aware of your breath and either lay down in Shavasana, sit in Sukhasana or move to the music of the spheres with a yoga sequence or dance. Use this opportunity to meet an ancient friend, who' ll offer a cosmic hug to your being.
Come and open the portal to your awareness and inner guide. Become one with the journey and share your spirit and voice by sounding Aum with the gongs and those who choose to journey with you at the Festival of Yoga. HEALTHY LIVING TENT | SUNDAY MORNING SERENITY, YOGA FOR EVERYONE with SILVER AGE YOGA (Chair Options Available) . . .

Join Helena & Veronique for a specially designed class that can be done either on the mat or in a chair. During this class, you will slowly peel away the layers so that you can find your “bliss body,” no matter the shape, size, physical ability or age. You will be expertly guided through gentle yoga stretches and breathing practices that will help to awaken the body, calm the mind, brighten your spirit and prepare you for the rest of the day. Suitable for anyone whether it is your first introduction to Yoga or whether you are an experienced Yogi that has been practicing for years. This class is sponsored by Silver Age Yoga Community Outreach which is a non-profit organization based in San Diego whose mission is to offer health-enhancing, life-enriching classes to underserved seniors. PILGRIMAGE OF THE HEART MAIN STAGE | STRESS & TENSION RELIEF FOR SHOULDERS, UPPER BACK AND NECK with COURTNEY YEZZI. . .

This a dynamic and joyful class. The focus being on stress held in the shoulders, neck and head gives us an opportunity to see how we can use standing poses as a way to free our spine and align to the freedom that is waiting for us through the practice of yoga! We will use our arms in many ways, as the arms are the gateway to the upper body and help to open the lungs, heart and inner shine. The end of practice will be a few seated poses, twists and gentle backbend to further express the upper back and move stale energy that may be locked inside posing as stress. Led by Courtney Yezzi.

IYACSR SUN ASANA TENT | UPLIFTING BACKBENDS with STEPHANIE LAVENDER . . .

In this class we will playfully explore intermediate backbends and observe the uplifting effects that backward extensions bring to the mind and body. Backbends offer clarity, focus and, joy. It is advised that woman who are Menstruating avoid this class. At least 6 months of yoga required. Led by Stephanie Lavender.

MOON ASANA TENT | INTRODUCTION TO VINYASA YOGA with XENIA GUIDO . . .

If you practice vinyasa, or are interested in trying it, join us for this overview of the foundational principles of vinyasa yoga. We'll look at the various options, modifications, and transitions most commonly seen in vinyasa yoga. We'll also talk about how to tailor the practice for you body, and how to avoid injuries. Led by Xenia Guido.

THE SOUL OF YOGA SOUND IMMERSION TENT | CRYSTAL BOWL MEDITATION & REIKI with JOE SCHWAB AND KAYMA ENGLUND (Begins at 10:05 a.m.) . . .

This session is open to everyone. Come prepared for a deeply relaxing experience, created by the meditative sounds and vibrations of the crystal bowls combined with the "hands-on" powers of Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that there is an unseen "life force energy" flowing through us. Participants will be lying down the entire time, so please bring your yoga mat and anything else (such as an eye pillow) that makes you feel comfortable. Led by Joe Schwab and Kayma Englund.

HEALTHY LIVING TENT| THE SPIRIT OF AYURVEDA: SELF CARE IS THE BEST HEALTHCARE with MAS VIDAL . . .

Learn what makes Ayurveda mother spiritual healing system of the world. The art of Indian Indian Music which includes Ghazal(Poetry), Qawalic (High Energy Mystic Music) and Bhajans (Hindu Devotional Music). This forms a palette of expressions that takes the listener on a soulful journey. The music awakens the soul of the listener and connects to the divine through songs that are themed in love, devotion and faith.

IYACSR SUN ASANA TENT | INTRODUCTION TO ACRO YOGA with BECCA GUTSTADT . . .

This class will explore the fundamental concepts that make it possible for a human to (almost effortlessly) hold another human’s full body weight in a variety of beautiful poses. This entry level class will lay all of the ground work you will need to begin practicing Acro Yoga. Not only is it an awesome workout, but also a great way to meet other amazing people. And, it is just plain FUN. Disclaimer:* Absolutely no experience is needed. Nor do you need to be super strong, or flexible or have done lots of (or any) yoga to participate. For real. Its slow, gentle guidance awakens the inner body through breath and relaxation techniques, and deconstructs traditional asanas —beyond modifications – into options, where each person may repeat the best option for their body, or continue towards the full expression of any pose. THE SOUL OF YOGA SOUND IMMERSION TENT| DRONEZONE SONIC TRANSFORMATION with SAM DAVID AND TROY PAGE . . .

Dronezone is unlike any musical experience. The didgeridoo is unique in the way that you can feel the vibration surrounds your body. It is one of the oldest instruments in the world and has been used as a tool to tell stories and transport you into the dreamtime. At times there will be simultaneous didgeridoos and other instruments being played around the room and over your body. The surging waves of sounds and rhythms will allow you to let go of stress and old energies. Tribal sound healing. Sonic Transformation Indigenous Vibration. Ashtanga Series is a set sequence of poses linked together seamlessly through sun salutations. Many other styles of yoga have been based on this traditional method. Twists rotate the spine and strengthen and stretch the muscles of the trunk. This helps to restore and retain the spine’s natural range of motion, which tends to decrease as we age. They stimulate circulation, creating heat and releasing tension in the muscles of the spine, abdomen and rib cage which helps other systems in the body (such as digestion and elimination) work more effectively. In 1837, a physicist named Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered that listening to certain tones of sound could actually induce certain states of mind. The theory is that when exposed to these frequencies the brain actually perceives a single tone that stimulates brain activity. As we know ancient shamans and healers used repetitive drumming and chanting as a means of revitalizing the connection between the human brain and body and the unconscious. This session will be a guided meditation tour through the full spectrum of these frequencies. Led by Ethics.
